AFWG Workshops

AFWG Training to Engaged Research workshops aims to provide training to scholars and NGO researchers on writing successful research proposals to articulate their research project. The goal is to provide them with a greater probability of being funded, in addition to training in research design and implementation.

Workshops are offered to scholars and NGO researchers by AFWG core group members and directed by Dr. Suad Joseph. Dr. Joseph provides the basic guidelines and structure of the workshop to participants, while AFWG core group members engage the participants in small writing groups to work on their individual projects. Mentoring continues for 4-6 months following the workshops with assignments and responses feedback from mentors assigned given to each participant individually. Currently, AFWG offers small grants to successful participants to carry out research during the mentoring period. The participants return for a second workshop focusing on data analysis and presenting their research results.

The workshops are funded by the Ford Foundation Cairo office.
